The Niello Story
Volkswagen Dealership Ground Breaking
|
It all began in 1921. Louis Niello, an immigrant from Italy, opened a Packard
Automobile Service facility on Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco, California.
In 1922, he and his wife, Genevieve, had their one and only child, Richard
Louis Niello. Louis was awarded the Pierce Arrow franchise in the late 1920's
and soon added the Packard franchise as well.
The Packard/Pierce Arrow dealership prospered, even through the depression and
a World War. However, due to evolving tastes and new markets the 1950's brought
change and Louis Niello died, along with the Packard and Pierce Arrow marques.
In 1955, son Richard went on to open a dealership of his own representing a
brand new automobile called the Volkswagen. This dealership opened in
Sacramento, becoming one of the 1st Volkswagen and Porsche dealerships in the
United States
The Niello Company's tradition of offering Niello Volkswagen in Sacramento
automotive excellence to Northern California customers carried on.
Today, the Niello Company is family owned and operated by Richard's three sons,
Rick, Roger and David. The franchises represented by the family have grown to
include
Volkswagen,
Acura,
Audi,
BMW,
Infiniti,
MINI,
Porsche,
Land Rover,
Jaguar
and
Maserati.
Our philosophy today is the same as it was in 1921: to offer distinct luxury
automotive products and services while treating our employees and customers
with unyielding integrity. Simply put, we believe in The Golden Rule and that
is how we run our business.
